Extremely hard and dense, Tekna’s Spherical Cast Tungsten Carbide TEKMAT™ powder, an eutectic mixture of WC and W2C phases, is one of the most wear resistant products on the market. Commonly blended with nickel based alloys, it is perfect for hardfacing applications by PTA, laser cladding and other processes for use in applications where superior wear protection is needed, such as mining, oil drilling and agriculture.

Various size fractions are available from 44µm (325 mesh) to 420µm (40 mesh). Our standard SWC grades are the following:

Size fraction may also be customized to meet customer’s technical criteria for specific applications.

 

Our Spherical Cast WC products are also available as Nickel Clad (a thin coating strongly bonded to the surface of each particle) and/or blended with various nickel alloys to improve wetting and particle adhesion in nickel matrix thermal spray blends.

Typical order quantity is one metric ton (1000kg or 2200lbs). The powder is delivered in 4 metal drums of 250kg (550lbs) each. Each order comes with a Material Test Certificate reporting the properties of the powder.
