Tekna’s team is composed of over 60 multidisciplinary highly qualified professionals working to meet our customer needs.

Tekna is structured into three fields of activity:

 

Systems manufacturing

Tekna is renowned for its quality of turn key system integration which involves a multidisciplinary team of technicians and engineers.

Engineering and design

We offer complete plasma process and system design for integrated production plant and turn key plasma systems. Our highly skilled professionals are dedicated to meeting each customer’s needs in standard or custom plasma processes from laboratory to industrial scale.  Our experienced engineers are proud of their established track record of meeting customers’ individualized requirements and accelerated time-to-market expectations. System safety is at the core of all engineering work performed at Tekna.

Our designers use the most advanced 3D design tools to create and optimize system configurations.

Numerical modeling team

Numerical modelling is an essential and powerful tool which adds great value to plasma process. As part of the R&D and design stage, Tekna developed unique skills in numerical modeling of the most complex plasma processes.  We model plasma and particle temperatures, flow, and velocity profile inside our torch and reactors which permits a better optimization of the system design and performance.

Computer programming

Tekna takes great care in the design of the operator interface to assure user friendly operation while maintaining safety interlocks.  The control console monitors all vital system parameters and controls the operating parameters such as gas flow rate, water flow rate, temperature, gas and water pressures. It incorporates system interlocks that prevent the operation of the system under unsafe conditions.

Electrical

The electrical design and assembly is done according to the UL, CE or CSA standards based on client needs. All system interlocks and circuits are tested before delivery.

Machining

Tekna does the machining of most components internally to ensure the highest control on quality while reducing delivery time. Custom parts are machined manually allowing sufficient flexibility on controlling machining conditions, and repeat parts are machined on our computer numerical controlled (CNC) machining equipment providing rapid and high quality production.

 

Welding

Tekna has developed expertise in stainless steel welding for all types of complex structures and vessels. We take great care to assure the best join.

System assembly

Great care is taken during the system assembly to assure structural integrity. All system assembly and piping work is assembled and tested individually in sub-systems ensuring the design performance specifications are met.

 

Painting

All structure and frames are painted in-house with industrial grade paints assuring the best protection for our equipment for many years.

Powder manufacturing service

Tekna’s powder manufacturing team is composed of highly qualified engineers and technicians and state-of-the-art induction plasma systems dedicated to the production of Tekna’s own line of powders, which includes spherical and densified metal and ceramic powders as well as various grades of nanopowders.

Tekna also offers customized powder treatment services for customers who prefer to take advantage of Tekna’s experience and unique process’ advantages.

We have a well equipped laboratory which provides a rapid turn around time to our R&D department and powder manufacturing service for either powder or coating properties.
