INDUCTION PLASMA THERMAL SPRAY-COATING SYSTEM
System description
Induction Plasma System for Thermal Spray Coating Application
System principle of operation

Applications
Materials created or treated with induction plasma technology may generate coatings which can deliver solutions in applications ranging from the electronics industry to medical applications. Induction plasma technology is mainly applied to coating applications requiring high purity.
The main applications are classified as follows:
Medical applications
Hydroxyapatite (HA) is being tested as a coating for prostheses because human bones are able to bind to it. This special feature allows doctors to substitute broken or
missing bones with prostheses, giving patients a higher quality of life.
Electrical applications
Induction plasma technology
can be successfully used for rebuilding or manufacturing critical components requiring
a high-quality coating, such as sputtering targets or X-ray targets.
Glass glazing and polishing
Induction plasma technology is used for the glazing and surface polishing of
glass. The high temperature plasma jet can rapidly melt the surface of the glass
and smooth the surface.
Fibre optics
Preform etching and over-cladding of preforms can be performed using Tekna’s unique patented induction
plasma technology. The vapour axial deposition provides a potential way of
manufacturing over-cladding of preforms in a less expensive way than current technology
based on synthetic tube sleeving. The plasma spray process for
MCVD and PCVD processes provides the following advantages:
